Scarlet

Passion named her Scarlet.
Named entirely for her flames.
In her heart, an inferno grew,
And never again were we the same.
She lived her life forgivingly,
Until she couldn't bare.
She lived her life bravely,
Until even she was scared.
Scarlet cannot be found.
She's wandered endlessly into her oblivion state.
Her spark flickers out of sight,
As her former soul disintegrates.
We call her name,
We feel her breath.
We hear her heart beating,
Deep inside her chest
Her skin paled,
Her tiny hands shake .
With every passing moment,
We feel Scarlet continue to break.
Sometimes...
She feels as blank as the paper she writes on.
And she could write all night if she wanted to.
But Scarlet... It's getting harder and harder to pick up the pieces.
It's getting harder and harder to do that for you...
Her eyes turned to jade
Her soul set ablaze
His love -- gone missing,
Her love -- gone estranged.
Poison on his tongue,
Ice in her veins.
Her Fire, he set ablaze.
She's too far gone to feel the pain.
Her shaking hands clasp the pain,
Under the yellow glow of the moon.
It's light shines upon her dark hair.
Her times up soon..
Contempt named her Scarlet.
Named entirely for her flames.
In her heart, an inferno grew,
And never again were we the same.
I seen Scarlet by the window.
Her soul engulfed in the words she writes.
She scribbled like that for days...
That is...Until that one night.
Her pen fell from her grasp,
As the determination was released from her eyes.
Those eyes that still haunt me.
And even then, she refused to cry .
We found Scarlet on the floor,
With scarlet all around her.
We knew it'd happen someday.
That someday, her fire would return to her.
And over the years, that fire gained momentum,
Til it scorched her through and through.
But she clasped on, never let go.
Not until it burned the hell out of him too.
Her tiny hands still shook,
As the life escaped from her eyes.
And we never did understand,
Why Scarlet had to die.
And although she died so long ago,
Her heart continues to beat.
On and on, true and true
Scarlet only lasts as long as her heat.

Bitter Winter, Daughter of Sorrow

Bitter Winter,
Daughter of sorrow,
Stretched her wings across the moor.
Unforgiving.
Unendearing.
She seeks to embitter us all.
Desolate Frost,
Lady of despair
Scratched her claws against the door.
Artfully,
Maliciously,
She seeks to cool our hearts.
Shivering trees,
Trembling pilgrims in the dark,
Suffer her banshee screams.
Coldy,
Cruelly,
She seeks to pillage us all.
Barren branches,
Bereft of their dignity,
Fracture under the pressure of her touch.
Callously,
Imperviously,
She seeks to break us all.
Ancestral house,
Guardian of solace,
Shields us from her fury.
A warm caress
A staunt stronghold
She protects us from the storm.
Beloved kin,
Sister of opulence,
Envelopes us with her calm
Our kindle - her smile
Our hearth - her embrace
Her warmth defeats the chill.

Masquerade

A year of tumult.
An age of irration.
Heart's bitter contempt,
A high security prison.
A prior love,
Turned exceptional fiend.
An extraordinary facade.
You're not at all what you seemed.
Deceit on your mind.
Venom on your tongue.
The maddening ache of hunger.
A howl builds in my lungs.
Stop this masquerade,
Discard your mask!
Your two faces,
Have fulfilled their task!
I believed in the myth,
I trusted in a lie.
Begone, Traitorous Dog!
Bury this deceit, to die!
An era of disillusion,
A moment of doubt.
A flicker of truth,
Your misdeeds- I must surmount.
A beloved friend,
Turned treacherous knave.
A sum is due-
Give me back all that I gave.
The looming darkness,
Corrupting my dreams.
A shoddy mirage,
Nothing is as it seems!
Halt this charade!
Your soul has fled south.
Reveal your forked tongue,
Laying stagnant in your mouth.
A frigid betrayal.
A monstrous slight.
Farewell, Demon!
I hope your lies keep you warm at night!

Phoenix

A wounded bird,
With an aching heart,
Calls into the night.
The late winter sky,
Moans in reply,
"Your wings are too weak for the flight."

The glowing moon,
With a contemptible glare,
Dared the bird to try.
Talons stretching,
Will - Unflinching.
He mustered the courage to fly.
The battered red bird,
Steadily soared through the sky,
Dancing to the moon's cruel song.
The phoenix approaching,
The moon encroaching,
Far from where it belongs.
From behind the moon,
A terrible burst of fire,
The sun presented its wrath.
Flames engulfing,
Terror resulting,
The eclipse devoured all in its path.
The vibrant sun,
Overcame the silver moon,
And devastated the courageous bird.
From head to foot,
Reduced to ash and soot,
The bird's song could no longer be heard.
Warmth,
Like a dream,
Wafted over him.
Phoenix emerging,
Spring burgeoning,
Winter's light has grown dim.
Spring's arrival,
The annual rebirth,
Showers us with calm.
Nature awakening,
Sun rejuvenating,
The Phoenix rises with the dawn.

Soirsha

Soirsha released a call into the night.

Despair loomed - overcoming her ration.

Under attack with no relief in sight,

Envious burn grew from heightened passion.

Her thrumming heart stands alone in the dark,

Defenseless and meak to unseen possessors.

Untainted - envy has not yet left its mark,

Jilted love acts as a stern professor.

An innocent heart turned jaded and cold.

An exceptional love turned bleak.

A tale of blasphemous deceit was told,

As all her determination grew weak.

A terrible love can fracture a soul.

An unprotected heart can damn us all.
