Like a window, sharp and shattered.
I was told I would never change.
I was told I no longer mattered.
I have always yearned to succeed.
Perhaps I tried too hard.
But then I was told to no longer attempt,
I would never go very far.
Well I pushed on,
Until I couldn't push anymore.
Focused on the future,
Opened some doors.
And finally,
You can no longer say to me:
Stop yearning so hard,
For something you'll never be.
I broke their intent,
Like a heart, sad and shattered.
Now they know how I have changed.
And they know the past will never matter.
I continue to push on,
Until I cannot push anymore.
Shed some light ,
Slammed some doors.
And finally ,
You can no longer say to me:
"Stop trying so hard,
For something you will never be."
Like a heart, sad and shattered.
Now they know how I have changed.
And they know the past will never matter.
I continue to push on,
Until I cannot push anymore.
Shed some light ,
Slammed some doors.
And finally ,
You can no longer say to me:
"Stop trying so hard,
For something you will never be."
